WEARING LEATHER INTO SPRING

leather-in-spring

Living in Vancouver, we know the changing of the seasons gets people excited.  Especially right now; fewer long, dark and gloomy days and more sun shining down resulting in happy and smiling faces all around.  At the first sight of sun everyone who lives here heads for the outdoors.  They zip over to the nearest beach, patio or park to take advantage of such a rare phenomenon.  We are total culprits.  Neither of us can say no to a nice, cold beverage on a patio when the sun is out!

The other thing that happens during this winter to spring transition period is suddenly your wardrobe doesn’t flow as well as it used to…  It’s almost warm enough to wear just a sweater… Or maybe you still need your winter jacket?  Then we start thinking about getting the florals out.  We may be considering putting our darker and heavier clothes into the back of the closet… Until next season cozy parka!

One thing we are really not willing to give up this Spring (or ever really) is leather.  One, it looks hot. Two, you feel like a bad ass wearing it which can be a mega confidence booster.  Three, it’s more versatile than it’s given credit for.  We’re here to show you about its versatility and how we’re getting away with wearing leather as we transition into Spring.  It all starts with lighter pairings… Like the outfit above, it provides a great contrast of edge and softness which is perfect for the season ahead.

Another way to deal with lighter pairings is lighter leathers.  White leather is an amazing piece to take with you all year long!  This white copped leather top also adds a soft detail to help roll it into Spring and easily carry it into Summer.

Bottom line, if you want to keep rocking that leather this Spring try to pair it with  lightweight fabrics, softer pastel tones adding a pop of colour, or just take those lighter tones right into your leather pieces and be that bad ass you were meant to be!
