This is our summer for catching up on life admin. You know, getting ahead of everything so you can get a little “me time” at the end of a long week or day. We are all for organization so we can get to the good stuff. The good stuff in the summer includes BBQs, beach hangs, boat hangs, hikes, etc. These lovely activities ALWAYS include other friends. We love everyone, but seriously folks, sometimes we just need a TIME OUT. Which is why this July we are featuring our favourite summer reads for those days when you’re going to the beach SOLO.
Let’s get into it shall we?! It = INSANITY MODE. Obviously. Given our first book is about the one and only Elon Musk, we had to take it up a few notches. Seriously, if you’re obsessed with Tesla’s like we are, you will be able to get through this book in insanity mode. It’s the most perfect, light summer read about a truly fascinating and brilliant man. Throw down that beach towel and get into it.
Next up, are the nominees for “best title of the year”. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck takes this one home. it I won on the merits that really has the most “subtle” of titles. Seriously, why wouldn’t you want to read this book?! It’s insanely amusing, gives everyone a little boost of energy and confidence to get through anything. It also gives a BIG reminder NOT to take anything personally… because well, who gives a f*ck!?
What’s summer without fresh produce, veggies and farmers markets? To that end, we read cookbooks for fresh takes on fresh food. We love stocking up all summer long on what’s available and chef Travis Lett’s Gjelina cookbook does not disappoint. It is simple, family style Californian cooking at its finest and you can definitely cook everything in this book…we are sure of it!
What are you reading this summer?
