Spring skirts. Love them? Hate them? Yah…we hear you. Sometimes it’s just so much easier to throw on a dress, jumper or romper instead of staring at your closet holding a skirt and then wonder – now what?? Like you have a skirt in your hand, now you need a top, possibly a sweater, shoes, accessories…ugh. The list can sometimes be endless! We hear you! This week we are skirting around the difficulties of skirts. Punny, eh? Yah, we thought so. We are trying to simplify skirt life for you!
To start, we have taken a basic black skirt and dressing it down. We don’t often think of that. Usually you pick a skirt and grab some heels, not so here!! So we paired it with our Adidas Stan Smiths so now we can basically go anywhere and run any errand in our cute skirt! Voila! The options of what to do in our skirt and what to wear with it are now more endless! So…we grabbed a graphic T, an oversized purse and some silver jewelry to keep it casual.
We picked a skirt with a high side slit in it and it hangs perfectly – not too loose and not pencil tight. It’s perfect for all occasions. If you wanted to go a different direction with this side slit black piece, you can hit a patio in it wearing wedges and a loosely tucked in tank top or you can enjoy date night in it wearing ankle boots and a jean jacket!
Okay, now onto 2 of 2 spring skirts: the dressy version. It’s bright, light, and totally screaming spring. Look at us moving right on out of our usual colour palette. The skirt is perfectly striped with cream and a lovely blue/grey hue. This easily lets us pair it with a those two colours. Which is exactly what we did with a grey Chloe bag plus blue Steve Madden shoes; we really kept it simple and in the same colour realm.
To keep it relatively simple, we paired the outfit with one of our absolute favourite white tanks. The delicate lace top makes this outfit something similar to our mix and matched patterns post – except this time it’s all subtle and matches perfectly well. The pattern on the shoes, match the skirt, the skirt matches the tank, and the pattern on the tank is just that pretty. Need we say more!?
What spring skirts are you rocking this year?!
