HOW TO WEAR BLACK INTO SPRING

If you’re anything like us, black on black is a staple in your closet and a go to in your wardrobe.  It’s versatile, slimming and ultra functional.  You can dress it up or dress it down depending on where you’re off to.  Day or night, chances are you will find one of us sporting black on black!  The problem you might see with this is that we wear it all winter and by nature feels dark.  So, how do you wear it in Spring without feeling too gloomy or too wintery?  Here’s a few options that will brighten up your monotone outfits for Spring.

We paired black ripped jeans with a light weight black tank top to start.  Ditch that winter sweater and if you need an extra layer throw on a white or cream coloured blazer with your noir ensemble.  The pièces de résistance is pairing your outfit with bright shoes and a hint of colour to your purse.  The florals on the purse really bring out the season as well.

Things get even lighter when your tops have a revealing element in the back to help give you a more “season appropriate” feel.

Yellow Louboutins and a floral purse make this otherwise dark outfit really pop into Spring.

Similar to the open back top above, in the coming photos, we’ve paired a black sleeveless blouse with a lace sheer detail in the middle with black jeans.  The lace feels feminine and the sheerness contrasts heavy winter.  It’s paired with a pink Chanel purse and nude heels for a lighter effect.

Moral of the story… you can absolutely wear black into spring (and throughout summer if you’re able to stand the heat!) all you need to keep in mind when you’re shopping for black on black outfits is: bright accessories!
