Let’s face it, all of us lead busy lives and any of us are lucky if we can even squeeze a date night in! So we’re guessing that en route to date night you don’t want to spend hours getting yourself all done up or, if you do, you at least don’t want to spend hours deciding what in your closet is “date night” worthy. Well, at least we don’t! So we wanted to share with you some of our favourite date night looks for Spring/Summer. In addition, we want to share a few of our favourite date night spots in Vancouver. Lots of ground to cover right?! So let’s jump right in!
In both outfit choices, simplicity is our best friend. You can never go wrong with a classic colour scheme like say… black and white! That’s what we pulled out on this first outfit: a dressier black tank with the higher neckline (… still a tank… and still SO comfy) brings out a little glam to an otherwise casual pair of white shorts.
In addition, a clutch and a pair of heels will ALWAYS dress up a pair of shorts. When in a pinch, we’re not shy and will totally reverse this outfit with a cute white tank and a great pair of cuffed black shorts! Black and white…always a go to in our closets! In Vancouver this outfit would take us to SO many of our favourite places but for the sake of keeping this on point, on a warm afternoon (or early evening), we would start our date night for a drink and an appy at Reflections Patio at Hotel Georgia, a cozy setting and a great cocktail list, followed by dinner at Hawksworth’s newest, Nightingale.

Next up we’ve got simple texture: a white top with lace details and ripped jeans paired together. This keeps our edgy look but gives a nice subtle softness to it … a great touch of savory and sweet for date night!
As always, stepping up our outfits with heels! These gold Jimmy Choo’s are no different and can be added as a touch of glam to almost any outfit! Like the photos above, this outfit has endless possibilities as to where it could take us however, right now we would pick Nook for amazing pizza and pasta…not to mention to burrata and prosciutto or Les Faux Bourgeois for that duck salad…omg…

A few key things to remember when dressing for date night: make sure you’re comfy (date nights are fun and included in that fun could be food and maybe even some wine or cocktails! You don’t want your clothes to be too tight where it would be uncomfortable to have a bite of anything in) and practical (don’t pair heels with shorts if you’re going to be walking for a long time, just take the clutch, no one wants their feet to be blistered after a night out).
