Christmas Cocktail

Merry Christmas!!  Can you believe that it has finally arrived?  It feels like just yesterday was summer but we guess not!  So, here we are on Christmas Day and waiting for that delicious turkey to cook itself!  That’s a thing right?  Christmas comes with lots of traditions and family time and re-runs of old movies.  Sometimes you have to fake-love your present while everyone stares at you and then sometimes you find yourself mid-afternoon just at loose ends.  Wow…Christmas sounds like a bit of a chore sometimes!

Ok, we know it’s not, but we also know we have a little friend or two to lean on should we need a little pick me up!  You know what we’re talking about…  oh yah… Christmas cocktails!!  Nothing screams Christmas day like a solid cocktail (or two) (or three).  Let’s see what we’re concocting this holiday season…

Okay, first off, it’s so cute. Yes, obviously, we made it. Secondly, it’s delicious.  Yes, obviously, we made it.  Thirdly, it’s festive…. We won’t say it….  We will just tell you HOW to make it. This recipe will get you two cocktails. AND it will let you drink all day as it’s “toned down” wine.

1/4 cup fresh cranberries

2 sprigs of rosemary

1 cup of white wine, we used a sweeter wine

1/2 cup seltzer water

In two separate glasses, add in ice and split the wine and seltzer water evenly between the two cups.  Add in some cranberries and a sprig of rosemary.  If you are dying to get crafty and make things really pretty, you can get the rosemary through the cranberries and use that as your stir stick and beautiful garnish.

We know you’re judging us but if you’re anything like us, your day starts with champagne (some call it mimosas… we don’t even bother with the oj anymore…) and it continues with non-stop flowing drinks.  SO all we are trying to do is hydrate while still enjoying a delicious cocktail.  Yes, now you see our point.

Merry Christmas lovely readers! We hope your day is filled with lots of fun family time.
